Long Weekend. :) Had fun and been busy.

In Western Australia today we have a public holiday for the Queen's Birthday, while the rest of Australia have this holiday earlier in the year, we have it now. So I am home from work and relaxing...and loving it.

We had the 2009 Fall Business Women Online Expo this weekend, Thank you to Dee of Runako Designs
you can find her blog here   its full of great information. I had a great time and found some amazing talented people from around the world, added lots of blogs to follow, new twitter follows and email links to friends it was so much fun.

Well as for Carling Designs Jewellery, this weekend I have done some work on the site, also set up a second site, the same but is for wholesale stockist only so they can order with easy have installed extra coding, done to protect them with the prices not being shown and pre-approval needed to sign up so that it is just for the shops that stock us and not anyone else. Being new to php and oscommerce this was again a learning curve for me but I got there with a few late nights and lots of help from the internet...LOL.

I also found a new tool that you might of noticed called linkwithin that runs in the middle of your blog posts, showing past post that might also interest the reader, I seen this on some other sites and thought it was great to be able to move around the blog like that so you will see it below.

Been looking at some Jewellery tag ideas to add to our designs when sold, have found a few great ideas around the place, if you have any let me know. Want to work on my branding ideas this week and get some type of unity with all the places I have been finding to market our site, so any ideas and tips on that would be great.

I spent yesterday afternoon in the garden pulling weeds, love the spring weather, but it did get me thinking of all the different colours around in spring and this got my head buzzing with new designs ideas, so yes I had to go to my bead room and get my hands busy...LOL will upload some of the new designs very soon.

I have a love of using natural items to make my designs so I use a lot of Semi Precious Stones, other materials used to make my jewellery designs include authentic Swarovski crystals and pearls, wooden beads, Czech glass beads, plated metal charms & components, as well as sterling silver and gold filled components, and metal beads, sea shells, silver and copper wire and copper beads, glass silver foil beads and any other items I find while looking around that catch my attention.

2009 Fall Business Women Online Expo

What a great idea this is.  Held by Runako, Girls Night Out is the name for her blog that is full of great information.

New Swarovski innovations AUTUMN/WINTER 2010/2011

Well today I got to preview the New Swarovski innovations AUTUMN/WINTER 2010/2011 range.


Well I am so looking forward to getting my hand on some of them and make some great new jewellery.


New colours and effects such as barely-there Greige, shiny Cyclamen Opal and precious looking Crystal Metallic Light Gold, and the new Crystal Coral Pearl is a great colour that I will love using for our Summer Range.

Greige Colour is almost a lighter style of Black Diamond with a cross of Silvershade, well that is what it reminded me of. Classic colour range will go great with loads of mixes looking forward to using it this summer.

Cyclamen Opal well this was one of my favorites in the new range. Cyclamen Opal perfectly fits the ongoing trend of opal colours. For an opal shade it is a rather brilliant appeal which makes the colour very special. The colour shade underlines the trend for berry and fuchsia.

Crystal Coral Pearl my other favorite in this new Swarovski release this season great colour for summer I am letting my mind go nuts with what I can do with this new colour.

Crystal Metallic Light Gold is a rich and precious looking metallic effect.

The new Navette Pendant convinces with classic understatement. An elegant look without exaggeration inspired by famous fine jewellery cuts. I can see some new necklaces with this as its center piece.

The last one I want to mention is the Crystal Mosaic bead.

This bold new look based on opalescent colour fusions offers a contemporary and highly original  take on crystal innovation and makes possible exciting new directions in design. This close up almost looks like a crystal version of a semi presious stone, comes in a range of colours.

 

So now I just have to wait for my local shop to get there stock in and I can go nuts.
